Weekly Remainders: Blast from the Past

Every week there are a ton of entries that never get posted on Simple Desks. Sometimes, they don’t quite match the focus of the site, or I don’t feel their quality merits inclusion. Whatever the reason, I often wish I could show them to you nonetheless, but without the prominence given to regular posts. Inspired by Lifehacker’s ‘Remains of the Day’, I’ve decided to feature the best of these leftovers every Friday as part of a ‘Weekly Remainders’ series. I hope today’s remainders are an interesting addition to the site.

  • The desks of tech CEOs: This was posted last month, so I’m a little late to the party. Still, it’s an interesting insight into the working methods (albeit from many years ago) of some of the most successful people in the world. Perhaps surprisingly, Bill Gates in particular appears to favour a largely minimalist workspace. From The Verge.
  • Fortress Desk: A great little children’s desk that’s sure to inject some imaginative verve into the unnecessarily dull world of school work. From Swissmiss.
  • Our Favorite Cord Control Gutters & Trays: Cables, wires, cords: I think we can all agree they’re a nuisance. Ugly, easily tangled, and often numerous, they can drive anyone to the edge of reason. Luckily for us all, Apartment Therapy has a great collection of ways in which you can deal with them.
