Simple Desks is a collection of thoughtful advice, musings and photos with a simple aim. By avoiding as much as possible the fetishism of minimalism, and instead promoting a flexible, functional approach to the subject, I hope to inspire those interested to simplify their work to a sensible - not obsessive - extent.

Simple Desks has, at times, veered closer than I would like toward encouraging this obsession - a quick glance at the sheer number of posts in the archive being ample evidence enough. All too often minimalism is advocated to the extreme that things become more, not less complicated. This is a damaging trend and the focus here will instead be on a compromise between beauty, simplicity and function. If you’re looking for a steady stream of pristine - and lifeless - workspaces, this isn’t it, at least not any longer. I hope you’ll join me nonetheless.
